Contents

Introduction of basic concepts, especially state descriptions and boolean algebra. Introduction to digital circuit elements, inclusive gates, flip-flops and memory, how these are designed on the transistor level and how they are parts of digital systems. Methods for realisation of state description and combinatorial functions with digital circuits. Analyses and partitioning of digital systems for realisation in form of state machines, combinatorial blocks and memories. Use of hardware description languages, simulation and synthesis.

Examination details

Grading scale: TH - (U, 3, 4, 5) - (Fail, Three, Four, Five)
Assessment: Examination through approved labs part, a written exam and home assignments.

The examiner, in consultation with Disability Support Services, may deviate from the regular form of examination in order to provide a permanently disabled student with a form of examination equivalent to that of a student without a disability.
